Are You Having a Morning Conversation?

Are you having a morning conversation with yourself?

Not with your partner over coffee.

Not with your kids about why they aren’t wearing their shoes.

Not with your dog about her breakfast. Although… she is really stinking cute.

With yourself. In your closet. How often do you have a conversation? A chat? A heart to heart?

I know I’m not alone when I tell you mornings can be RUSHED. And you KNOW what the first thing to go on a busy day is, right??? Thinking about yourself.

This is the LAST thing that should go when you have to prioritize. Yes your son needs his shoes, but you shouldn’t spend the whole day wishing you had spent an extra 10 minutes getting ready in the morning. Ya feel me?

So, what is this conversation that I want you to have with yourself? Well, this is the moment where you check in. The extra few minutes you take for yourself to help add more pep to your step all day long.

This conversation is comprised of three questions that I want you to ask yourself every single morning. Oh and do me a big ol favor and DON’T think of it as a chore, or something ELSE you have to do. I want you to think about how you can shift your mindset to feel excited about these questions and about taking that minute for yourself.

Top 3 Questions To Ask Yourself Every Morning

  1. Am I feeling my most confident? - Sometimes we get dressed quickly and don’t check in before we leave the house. It’ s important to make sure we are feeling our best. What if one small tweak would add a confidence boost to your day? Wouldn’t it be worth the extra few minutes to make that quick tweak?

  2. How do I want to “feel” today? - So often we focus on what’s flattering for our body type or what the weather is going to be instead of how we want to FEEL. And while it’s important to dress appropriately for the weather, it’s also just as important to feel like your clothes are helping to elevate your mood.

  3. How can I complete my ensemble? Especially on those super rushed days, accessories are the thing to fall by the wayside. They are also the thing that truly takes a bunch of clothes and turns them into an outfit. By adding that one last piece, whether it’s a scarf, hat, necklace, or bold lip color, think about how you can take your look to the next level.

Ok, so now that you know your questions, and you’ve got your mindset in check, it’s time to implement. Tonight when you go to bed I want you to remind yourself that you are going to have to do this non negotiable check in about what you are wearing in the morning. The reason I’m mentioning the night before because it’ll help you to include as a part of your morning routine the next day. It’ll go something like this: Wash face, brush your teeth, make kiddos breakfast, make yourself a smoothie, have a conversation about your outfit, have a conversation about your children’s outfits, go about your day feeling confident, stylish, and proud.

The other thing that I want to mention, is a lot of people always say they wish I was hanging out with them in their closet every morning. So, if you would rather you can CERTAINLY pretend you are going to be having a chat with me in the morning. Imagine me hanging out in your closet saying these questions to you. Cause girl, I am WITH you. You know?
